Sacramento Street

Living With Great Style

stunning sun room

What I first noticed about this sun room was its simplicity. The beautiful branches, the distressed mirror and the neutral tones of the entire room are fantastic. It’s a peaceful space, but I wonder what can been seen from the room. . . don’t you?

Also, thank you to everyone for the incredible support you have given myself and the entire Rue Magazine team yesterday. It’s a project very close to our hearts and a dream come true. I couldn’t think of a better team to start this with and I’m excited to see it flourish this September! I just wanted to let you know that without your ongoing support it wouldn’t be the same.

Launching Rue Magazine!

Do you know how hard it is to keep a secret? A secret you want to tell everyone you know, but can’t? Well, it’s been worth keeping our mouths shut to make today’s BIG announcement super special.

Rue Magazine, is the vision of Crystal Gentilello, who brought on two amazingly talented co-founders Alaina Kaczmarski and Anne Sage. I was lucky enough to be the fourth addition to this fabulous trio, now the fab four. We’ve all been putting our hearts and souls into the launch of Rue, but we love everything we’re doing.

Right now, Crystal and Anne are on the road in New York for a week of photo shoots, and all of us will be traveling across the country this summer to bring the best to you in the fields of interiors, fashion, culture and style. While in New York, they’ll be shooting with a blogger you may read every day along with an A-list designer and a fashion designer whose fabulous bags you may have in your handbag collection. For the launch issue we’re working with photographers who have shot for Domino, Traditional Home and the New York Times.

Let the official countdown begin to our September 16th launch! Be sure to follow us on twitter and facebook for updates on our first issue. We promise you won’t be disappointed, all we ask is for your support.

xo, Caitlin

10 Things That Make Me Happy: The Decorista

Happy Monday lovelies! Can you believe it’s going to be July on Thursday? June came and went with a blink of an eye.

Today, I’m excited to have Ashlina from The Decorista blogging here about her favorite
things. Her blog features beautiful homes and spaces. One of my very favorite things is her Six to Bliss Series. If you’ve never checked it out, please do!

******************************************************

Hi all of you beautiful readers of the ‘ever so stylish‘ Sacramento Street blog!

I am extremely honored to be sharing with you and Caitlin, 10 things that make me really really happy.

Like most of you, there are probably a million things I could add to the list, like thai food, blogging, elephants and fur-babies but I narrowed it down to 10. A solid 10 that seem to take up most of my everyday thoughts.

I hope you guys enjoy! xoxo

1. I really hate to say it but my blackberry makes me incredibly happy. Anyone who has one knows just how useful and efficient they are. It keeps me organized and together, such a handy little gadget.

2. Rebecca Minkhoff handbags…she just gets me. Her style is super duper on my level and this particular handbag is one I want to get on board with. I love it.

3. My Missoni beach towel. I love love love it. I love having a towel in my car so I can whip over to the beach and read a book or get some sun. Anything and everything about the ocean makes me happy.

4. Decorating magazines honestly give me instantaneous happiness! I can just devour mags for hours and honestly feel like I have landed in la la land.

5. My Starbucks Venti reusable plastic cup. I am a coffee fanatic AND its only 50 cents to get refills. This kind of discount makes me extremely happy.

6. Jo Malone Vintage Gardenia perfume. So, I don’t wear this scent everyday but I keep it in my cosmetic bag in my purse and if I have had a long day at work or running around LA, I can spritz it on to refresh. The scent of gardenia puts me in an instant good mood and as soon as I put it on the compliments start coming. What is not to love about that!?

7. Sharpies make me happy. I have about a million and I always want more. Is there anything else to say?

8. Gold cross necklaces. I love collecting rosaries and crosses. I wear a gold cross necklace every single day. Everytime I look at it and put it on, it reminds me of my faith and I get an instant smile on my face!

9. Thrift shopping. I am just smitten with scouring thrift and vintage stores for great finds and treasures. I could go thrift shopping anytime. It is a sure fire way to brighten my day.

10. Palm Springs. My home away from home. It’s my bliss. Enough said.

it’s friday!

Happy weekend everyone! I can’t wait to spend the weekend going to the farmers market, museums, doing a little shopping and having fabulous dinners with my mom, cousin and aunt (who are all in town). The four of us are a force to be reckoned with when we’re together.

I can’t wait to also have my house back in order – only a few more things to clean out and then our tiny abode will be sparkling. I’m hoping that the John Robshaw pillows I ordered for the couch will come in soon, it looks so bare.

What are you lovelies up to this weekend? I hope wherever you are, you’re enjoying some sunshine.

See you back here next week with some very exciting news!!

outside relaxation . . .

This week has flown by, I haven’t found myself counting down the hours until Friday – believe me, usually I am, but I’ve got too many exciting projects going on that make me smile each and everyday. When you do something you love, time doesn’t seem to matter.

Unfortunately, because I’ve been so busy with projects and putting back together our apartment, I’m going to have to leave you dreaming of laying outside on this amazing hammock. I can’t decide if I’d be reading or taking a nap, which would you prefer? Maybe I’d do a little of both.
