Living With Great Style

I heart Pinterest . . .

I have a little bit of an obsession – Pinterest. I’m totally hooked and it’s getting to the point where I can’t stop pinning. It’s seriously the best tool for a bloggers and designers. For those of you not acquainted with Pinterest – it’s a site that lets you “pin” any image online into a virtual inspiration board that you create within your profile. Now can you see why I’m incredibly addicted.

So, if you haven’t started pinning you need to start, and for those of you equally obsessed as I am, we should follow each other!

Happy pinning everyone!

chair: which one do you adore?

All of us have that favorite chair in our home – whether it’s in your living room, bedroom or a small special nook. It’s a place where you can do anything you want; read, chat with a friend on the phone or drink a warm cup of tea and relax. Chairs come in all shapes and sizes, so what style chair do you adore?

On another note, each week I create this series and I’d love to hear from you – what rooms or areas of rooms would you like to see featured in the next few weeks?

a brand new week . . .

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was quite busy traveling to Sacramento for a bridal shower weekend. It was nice to spend quality time with girlfriends, which doesn’t happen as often as I would like since we all have hectic schedules. But I’m happy to be home – the fog welcomed me with open arms as I drove back into the city, and I realized how much I love the cool fog. The 100 degree heat this weekend was a little too much for me.

Putting together my inspiration board together this week was so much fun because I was inspired by interiors, fashion and even beauty. First, I came across the Design*Sponge summer newspaper at Birch in Hayes Valley (try to find it in your hood – it’s a fabulous read!). A few more items that gave my brain a burst of inspiration – my vintage Pierre Hardy clutch that I found in a small consignment shop in Napa, one of my favorite jewelry finds from the Alameda Flea market, a few new Estée Lauder products that are making my skin glow (the night repair is unbelievable), the verbena smell engulfing my apartment because of this candle (from Birch) and lastly, my Astier elephant sits on my nightstand and is filled with my most prized treasures (a gift from my mom that I wake up to every morning).

What has been inspiring you lately? Something in your house? Around your neighborhood? I’d love to know!

Cheers to having a fabulous week!

it’s friday + link love!

What a wonderful week it has been! It has been action packed with Mrs. Erin moving here (we’ve had lots of dates already) and then Kirsten of Simply Grove coming to visit. It was such a pleasure having her here as a house guest – we had delicious meals around town, got frozen yogurt at my favorite spot, went to see the Golden Gate Bridge that was fogged in (next time Kirsten!) and chatted for hours and hours about design. After a hectic week I’m ready to take on the action packed weekend – I’m going up North for a bridal party weekend. So ready for a little heat and sunshine.

Before you set off on your weekend be sure to check out these amazing reads:

* Two of my dear friends started their own company, Glasses and Braces! Both are incredibly talented, art director and writer team. You should check out their site and work. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

* Hoping to conquer this and this hairstyle this weekend . . .

* Who know entryways would be so popular . . .

* I’ll be popping over to this Bazaar for some beautiful treasures . . .

* Loving this new collection . . .

* Blushing because of this lovely shout out . . .

* And lastly, this went to the top of my wishlist . . .

Hope all of you have a wonderfully relaxing weekend!

xx, Caitlin

I’m Loving . . .

I never tire of open shelving – every single image I come across of open shelving brings on a new love affair with it. The contrast of the white/neutral tones against the black makes it look even more chic.

The sun has been shining here and if it stays this way I’m going to make this wardrobe my staple look. It’s perfect for running around the city.

When I came across this recipe my mouth started watering – this lasagna is making an appearance in my kitchen when the city is engulfed in fog.

I’ve got a huge crush on these No. 6 clogs. I think I’ve been lusting after them for far too long and it’s high time I make a special place for them in my closet. This chestnut color is divine and pretty much perfect for fall.

You probably get sick of me talking about a few things that I wish I could change about our apartment – the kitchen and bathroom fixtures in particular. This bathroom mirror is perfection. Paired with the white subway tile and unique sink – this bathroom definitely has my name written all over it!

On another note, today I was quoted in The Wall Street Journal talking about the Alameda Flea Market. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that would happen but that day has come. I’m over the moon right now!
