With Christmas less than a week away I thought I’d share what I’m hoping will be under the tree – and maybe you’ll add them to your wishlist. When I put together my list I always have items I’ve been wanting for months and then a few small trendy items. But if I had to pick one of these items to be under the treet it would be the Isabel Marant suede sneakers  – I’ve been lusting after them for over a year. What’s on your wishlist?

Do you find yourself looking for an appetizer to bring to holiday party? Susan of Peas and Love here to share this smart choice to take to your next soiree.


Zesty Rich Hummus

Ingredients:
1 can Organic Chickpeas, rinsed and drained
Juice of 1/2 a Lemon
2 small Garlic Cloves
2 Tbsp Tahini
1/2 an Avocado
1/2 cup Water
2 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Turmeric
Sea salt to taste
Pinch of Paprika

 

Directions:
In a blender, bring all ingredients together and blend into a rich and smooth consistency, occasionally scraping down sides. Add more water to achieve desired consistency, if necessary. Transfer to a bowl and sprinkle over some paprika. Serve with pita, fresh cut veggies or bread.

ShoeMint Giveaway: Boots, Boot, Boots!

Boot season is quite possibly my favorite time of year. The weather is now colder than normal in San Francisco and in my opinion the only option for shoes is boots -  a personal favorite. ShoeMint is a fabulous collaboration between Rachel Bilson and Steve Madden. They have come together to create an eye catching line of boots for everyone.


In order to show you an array of different styles from ShoeMint I had my cousin and I pick out our favorite boots to photograph in a shoot with Emily Anderson. She immediately went for the Holly in army green (which I fell in love with) and I chose the Esther for it’s sleek and clean aesthetic.


What she loved about the Holly was the double zipper look and that it came in a dark army green suede – a perfect color for her wardrobe. Plus they look like a boot both my cousin and I have been coveting, but at a better price point – only $79.95!


The Esther is the classic booties that you can pair with rolled up jeans for a lunch date or dress it up with tights and a skirt for a nighttime look. I love how the suede continued onto the heel.

a brand new week . . .

After fighting a horrible cold over the last part of this week I was finally able to get out of bed to start getting in the holiday spirit. My mom and I enjoyed lunch at Chez Panisse – a new holiday tradition we’re starting this year. The meal was delicious and the atmosphere was absolutely divine for a cold rainy day. The rest of the weekend was spent Christmas shopping, wrapping and finally getting our tree (it’s never too late, right?).


Last week I was incredibly happy to be featured in GOOP – Gwyneth Paltrow’s site as one of her favorite sites she’s reading right now. When I found out on Thursday I couldn’t believe it. I had a “HOLY SH*T” moment when I found out on the bus – everyone probably thought I was crazy, but I was just in shock. Thank you all of the sweet comments on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.


I hope all of you had a festive weekend and I hope it continues on into the week!
