Giveaway: Freda Salvador Shoes

Freda Salvador GiveawayAs many of you know – I’m a huge fan of Freda Salvador shoes. Actually mildly obsessed . . . they are comfy, stylish and every single time I wear a pair I’m bound to get asked where they are from. Their fall collection is one of my favorite collections yet – the mix of leathers, colors is fabulous and they added a heeled boot that is stunning. Hear more about what inspired them this season.
Freda Salvador Shoes
What was the inspiration for your fall collection?
We love designing Fall. For this collection we were inspired by 70’s and 90’s music…Rock and Roll and Grunge!  Janis Joplin in the 70’s and Kate Moss in the 90’s.  The lines are geometric and simple, but we played around with hardware, like studded welts and removable studded harnesses. We added an elongated toe flat and 2.5′ heeled bootie to our assortment this season…which definitely plays up the Rock/Grunge feel!
How do you choose your fabrics? Does that have any effect on how next season’s line will look?
Twice a year we go to a leather and component Fair in Bologna Italy where we choose all of our leathers.  We of course have our favorite tanneries that we see first and then we love just browsing the entire Fair.  It is unbelievable what they can do with leather!  For Fall we love using hair calf, so depending on what prints are being offered, that definitely inspires our designs.
What exciting things are coming for Freda Salvador in the future?
We have several surprises up our sleeve, especially for our San Francisco customers, so stay tuned!!!!
Now the fun begins – we’re giving away one of our favorites and a staple in my closet, the Freda Salvador Change shoes. You can wear them with just about anything – jeans and a tee, shorts for our Indian summer that should be arriving, or pair them with a skinny black pants to dress them up. Then you have to decide if you want to wear them with the saddle or without. The sky is the limit with these beauties. It’s one of the favorites of the Freda founders and myself! Here’s how they would style these giveaway shoes.
Freda Salvador Change Dotted

What is your favorite way to style the giveaway shoes?

This is one of our favorite shoes of the collection because of the print and versatility.  We love this print specifically because it is interesting but still a neutral.  We like to wear it casually on the weekends with the saddle on and rolled up jeans.  Take the saddle off for a simple loafer…perfect with more tailored, skinny jeans for work.

These dotted change shoes are amazing. Not only that, but with leather jackets as a huge trend this fall, these pair perfectly! The black leather Shelli Segal jacket, or a leather moto vest, worn over either a chambray top or cashmere button-back sweater, matching swimmingly with the silk beanstalk skirt or salon mini striped skirt from J.Crew. Topping it all off with accessories of gold (say, a spiked necklace from asos)…and you’ve got a dream team of style! Great shoes need a great outfit!

I would style the ‘split’ with a these awesome pair of black skinnies I have (they look leather), a cream button down, statement necklace and rose gold watch. Maybe even a red lip too!

I would pair the ‘change’ (saddle off) with a fun look, dark wash skinny jeans, white tee and an olive military vest. I think the spot pattern would look fantastic with some olive accents. I would rock these with the new mens wear inspiriations that are out this fall and winter for clothing. I just got back from Italy, the fashion capital of the world and these are perfect with what is out for fashion with all the main fashion houses. These are perfect with anything that you want a sense of edge and style. But I am seeing so much fabulous mens wear inspirations, that these would be a perfect fit. Also, depending on the shoe sizes, I could even see these on an uber stylish man. Thanks Freda and Style on…
FYI- these shoes are the most comfortable I have ever worn. I walked through Rome in a pairof high heelwedges and my feet felt as fabulous as they looked.

I have been coveting Freda Salvador FOREVER, and coveting pretty much everything you have on your site, (no I am not a suck up, I just like your taste…okay maybe I am a bit of a suck up). I would wear these beautifully functional loafers with the new dark Madewell Skinny Skinny jeans, a crisp white dress shirt (tied at the bottom), and a J Crew necklace pulled around and under the collar. And….to take it into the evening post-work-world, I would remove the tops of the loafers and change the shirt out for a dressy Rebecca Taylor black tank. Thanks for listening to my rant, hope you can visualize the ensembles!

I just bought my first pair of boots after finding your website a month ago. If I could’ve been a shoe designer-your shoes are exactly what I would’ve wanted to design! I would wear the loafers both ways. With the saddle-I would wear black skinny leather pants and a slouchy camel cashmere sweater. With the saddle off-I would wear a black leather skirt-short, tights, and a simple t-shirt, with a leather cropped jacket in any fall color-burgandy?? Love the give-a-way idea. Can’t wait to see your store in San Francisco.
