If you live in the Bay Area and have an appreciation for interior design, or just enjoy peeking inside seriously stunning homes – the SF Decorator’s Showcase is a must-see (it ends this weekend!). This year’s venue was a jaw-dropping mansion perched atop Telegraph Hill boasting expansive views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate. While the exterior views alone are nothing short of spectacular, the interior is what steals the show.
The idea behind the SF Decorator’s Showcase home is that each room or area is designed by a different designer. So as you stroll the many corridors of the home, you never know what sort of style you’ll stumble upon next–my kind of adventure! Here’s a little recap of some design trends we loved at this year’s Showcase home:
Gone are the days where mixing patterns was considered taboo. Stephan Jones proved this concept flawlessly with his moody, yet charismatic study. His Zak + Fox upholstered furniture won our hearts as his earthy color palate and masculine styling soothed our eyeballs.
Finding the restraint in my urge to draw myself a bath in Tineke Triggs master bathroom proved difficult. From the dark metal fixtures to the geometric glass overlay situated behind the tub, the space emanated a rockstar-chic vibe.
As if the master bath wasn’t enough of a feat, Tineke Triggs nailed it again in her master bedroom design. I absolutely loved the combination of lines and textures happening with this seating situation. A bold, webbed black chair softened with a plush sheepskin throw – a recipe for perfection!
Our final praise over Tineke Triggs’ space–this little monochromatic desktop vignette. I loved the collected and asymmetric look of this stylish writing desk.
Last but not least, we loved the juxtaposition of dark masculine pieces with an artistic floral pastel backdrop in the dining area designed by Martin Kobus. The combination of darks, pastels and brass made this wall equally dramatic as the bay views out the opposite window. We were also in love with his kitchen design (below).
We always leave the SF Decorator’s Showcase home feeling inspired (and slightly envious). The showcase house is located at 298 Chestnut Street and admission is $35. The home will be open through the end of the long weekend so be sure to squeeze in a visit if you haven’t already!
