I’ve been following Holly Becker of Decor8 for years and years (since 2006) – it’s one of the first blogs I started reading. It ultimately inspired me to start Sacramento Street over three years ago. I couldn’t believe it when I was asked to participate in the Decorate Workshop, A Creative 8 Step Process for Transforming Your Home book tour.


In Holly’s second fabulous book, she shares all of her design secrets and also the eight step process/workshop to help you transform a home or room that will reflect your personal style. This is something a lot of people struggle with – no need to fear anymore friends. Holly asks questions throughout the book that will have you getting one step closer to your perfect interior style. It’s a brilliant way to approach design – see the first four steps below!

Bae Home & Design Giveaway

Our neighborhood is full of amazing small boutiques – one of the many reasons we have never moved. Over the past seven years I’ve been able to build relationships with the small business owners of many of the shops – even if it’s a quick wave as I’m walking by. So when Bae Home & Design (one of my favorite shops on the street) contacted me about doing a giveaway for my readers I jumped at the chance. I love sharing my secret resources with all of you.

bedroom inspiration . .

Yesterday in my “four favorites” post I featured the Ornate bed – well I can’t stop thinking about it and Christiane from Dwell Studio asked how I would decorate it if I owned it. I was totally up for taking a little bit of time to get creative and put together an inspiration board.

As you all know, I had to stick to my neutral colors, but added in fun textures to spice it up. The mix of a Madeline Weinrib rug, Bungalow 5 lamp, CB2 dressers and West Elm and Dwell Studio pillows make for a cozy sanctuary to cuddle in every night.

Now that I’ve created this board I wish the bed could magically appear at my doorstep.

Last night my mom and I were sitting in her new condo discussing what style of bed she should purchase for the guest bedroom – from traditional to antique to modern . . . the possibilities are endless. So after searching for the perfect style I thought it might be fun to have all of you weigh in on your favorite style. Which do you adore the most?
