My Perfect Saturday with Poppy Barley

I’ve been waiting impatiently to share this AMAZING giveaway with all of you. After the new year, Poppy Barley reached out to me asking if I would want to collaborate – when I saw that they produced custom boots I jumped at the chance to work with them. Friends, I’m one of those people that has a hard time finding the perfect knee high boot – they are either too tight, too big and they are always too short on my calves. With Poppy Barley you get a detailed guide on how to measure yourself for their custom made boots. At first I thought it would be challenging, but it was quite easy. My one tip, when measuring wear a pair of jeans because you’ll most likely be wearing them with the boots and you don’t want them to be tight around your calves. Once I was all measured the hardest part was selecting which boot . . .

As I brainstormed a way to feature the boots in a way that reflected the Sacramento Street reader, I thought that it would be fun to show you how I would spend “My Perfect Saturday” in the Poppy Barley boots. As we set off on a girls day with my mom and cousin we decided to first drive out to the Legion of Honor. It’s one of my favorite places in San Francisco – not only for the exhibits they showcase, but for the architecture of the museum itself.

This trip as we were taking a few photos of the boots, we got a few unexpected guests – two frenchies.

As you make your way out of the Legion of Honor you drive past our most prized landmark in San Francisco – the Golden Gate Bridge. Since it was a gorgeous day, we decided to sit on a bench and enjoy the sites of sailboats, the cliffs and of course the bridge.

A cool breeze came over so we decided to jump in our car and head to Sacramento Street to do a little window shopping to get inspired. The block between Baker and Broderick has a handful of stores that I know will inspire me – March, Sue Fisher King and a new store called The Future Perfect. All of which give me loads of inspiration.

Now that I’ve shared my Perfect Saturday, it’s time for you to share yours. Girlfriends’ Valentine’s Brunch (and a Giveaway!)

Valentine’s day is right around the corner and although you might be making plans with your honey, sometimes it can be about showing your friends that you care about them!! This year I decided to host a little soiree to celebrate a special group of girlfriends that have supported me this year – close friends and our Sacramento Street contributors (a new lovely lady debuting next week!). Minted was kind enough to provide a Valentine’s Day party in a box, which was perfect for the occasion – striped straws, signs, colorful paper goods for the table, and tags.

It was fun dreaming up this girlie-girl tabletop – a bit out of my normal (neutral colored) comfort zone but it definitely had to happen for this Valentine’s Day brunch. My essentials for any brunch tabletop – clean cut tulips from the grocery store, bright linen napkins, candy in the colors your decorating the table with and lastly, a fun drink to serve guests as they arrive (in this case blood orange soda with prosecco).

One of my favorite things to do for parties is to have something special for guests – in this case, I worked with Minted on creating personalized journals for each of my girlfriends. It was fun to add them to the tabletop as their place card.

When you combine love, laughter and amazing friends around a table, there really isn’t anything better! This brunch made me realize I need to host more parties to celebrate the girlfriends I love.

Minted.com Art Wall REVEALED + a Giveaway

Remember when Joslyn, Erin and I revealed our Minted.com Art Wall challenge and the prints our husbands picked out? – In my case it was the Lovebirds by Rene Mijares. Well, I had to end up creating a “small space” art wall with the prints I selected to go with the Lovebirds piece. It was a blast looking through all of the amazing pieces on Minted. In the end, I decided that a total of three prints would fit perfectly above my couch, which needed a little re-design anyway. It has had the same look for over a year now. I decided to go with a large sized abstract piece called Radiance and then a smaller photo called Runaway that reminded me of the beautiful bay that surrounds us. Now for the big reveal . . . .

I’m thrilled with the way my art wall turned out. It completely freshened up my living room space. Now the fun begins for you – Minted wanted to give one lucky reader their very own piece of art for their home. Pretty awesome, right?
