The holiday season is right around the corner – I can taste it! Not only am I excited because our little nugget is set to arrive, but the holiday season is my favorite time of year. There is nothing I love more than the chill in the air, the city glowing with holiday cheer, and seeing the Christmas trees in all of the windows. But what I love most is coming home to a mailbox full of holiday cards.
Each year Eric and I take an evening to sit down and select which holiday card will be gracing the mailboxes of our friends and family. This year, we’re getting a head start by ordering them early with Minted. They just unveiled their 2014 collection that has stunning new designs that are all customizable, they have a foil-pressed option that I can’t get enough of and they feature a free recipient addressing service to make sending your cards that much easier. In my eyes, this is amazing because addressing the cards always takes so much time.
With hundreds of options to choose from this season I wanted to show you a handful of my favorites that I myself am deciding between. Honestly, as I sifted through all of the beautiful options that Minted has to offer I realized that you can’t really go wrong with any of them. Each has a unique quality to it that anyone would love to get in their mailbox.
And finally, the giveaway! Minted and Sacramento Street have joined forces to give one lucky reader $300 towards their holiday cards. All you have to do is leave a comment below telling us which Minted holiday card you love the most, between now and Friday, October 24th at midnight.
For those of you that want to get a head start, Minted is offering Sacramento Street readers 15% off holiday cards with code SACRAMENTOSTREET until Monday, October 20th.

This year I’ve been fortunate to work on a variety of nurseries. Working with clients to create the perfect nursery has been such a rewarding and fun side of design. With nurseries I’ve been able to play around with color, test out gliders, find out what moms like and dislike, and most importantly have fun with families and help them get excited for their bundle of joy to arrive.
Since I’ve worked on nurseries and have had quite a few mommy-to-be’s emailing me with design questions, I wanted to bring all of you the ultimate giveaway. That’s when I called one of my go-to sources for clients – Giggle. When I mentioned my desire to give one reader their dream nursery – I’m talking furniture, a design plan, the whole enchilada, they jumped at the chance to work together on my vision. Let me tell you, they were beyond generous.
Giggle is giving away a crib, dresser and glider to one lucky Sacramento Street reader. In addition, Caitlin Flemming Design will work with the winner on designing their dream nursery through her Design in a Box service.
1.) The Gustaf Crib | 2.) The Gustaf Dresser | 3.) The Monte Design Como Glider
Entering is easy — simply follow the steps in the widget below and that’s it! You can then opt to submit additional entries. The giveaway runs until 11:00pm PST Friday, March 21st.

Although Thanksgiving is on the later side this year it feels as though November has flown by incredibly fast. I can’t believe Turkey day is just four days away. ‘Tis the season where everyone will start packing up their bags to either drive or fly to see their loved ones. When it comes to packing for trips I have go-to bags that I know won’t let me down. My ultimate travel bag is the OG from Lo & Sons. When I first discovered Lo & Sons a few years ago I was elated that there was finally a simple, chic bag to carry on a plane that also thought about every organization detail you could want. Yes, for a crazy person like me it was as though Christmas had come early that year. Fast forward to today and I’m still in love with this bag and it goes on every single trip with me — it should have its own passport.
With an array of beautiful colors — I now have the black and navy (a girls gotta have choices), a pocket to place your laptop, iPad, extra shoes, magazines, cell phone and more in this one carry on, it is perfect. I’m always shocked at how many items fit in this one bag, which is good for those long flight or layovers. One of my other favorite features, it slides onto your roller suitcase, so say goodbye to your bag falling anymore. This OG bag will stay in one place.
As you make your plans for the holidays and want to simplify the way you travel I highly suggest either the OG or OMG for any future trips. And for your avid travelers looking to add something to your holiday wish list – this is the it item to have.
Now for the fun part — one lucky Sacramento Street reader will win an OG, OMG or their amazing weekender, the Catalina – it’s your choice! Any style or any color! Entering is easy — simply follow the steps in the widget below and that’s it! You can then opt to submit additional entries. The giveaway runs until next Monday, December 2nd, and I’ll announce the winner on this post.
Also, Lo & Sons is offering all Sacramento Street readers 25% OFF until the end of December (AMAZING!) with code SACSTREETHOLIDAYS2013.

We’re slowly but steadily furnishing our new apartment – it’s quite a task. Especially when I’m the type that needs to live in a space for awhile in order to figure out the perfect pieces for each room. Each room so far has evolved into exactly what I pictured – mixing old and new, distressed with modern, and neutrals with pops of blue.
One source I’ve been going to for vintage finds is San Francisco based Chairish. You may remember them from a feature we did together in September. I’ve had the pleasure of picking out a few treasures for own home – they have amazing pieces. First, a lucite bench that had been calling my name – I keep moving it around from our bedroom, to the living room, but it’s the perfect piece to have nestled next to the sofa in case we need extra seating.
The second piece that I was over the moon and beyond giddy about was a piece of artwork by Michele Spane. Her work was one of the first things that caught my eye – the white circles on natural butcher paper make for a graphically stunning piece and frankly a piece I had to have. It was love at first sight. Do you ever find yourself looking for artwork for your home for months or even years? That was me for our living room. There are pieces that I’ve liked but this piece of work by Michele I loved. After receiving the piece I’m plotting on how I can hopefully get an even larger piece for my dining room (coveting this blue piece!!).
Since I fell in love with Michele Spane’s work so much I wanted to see if Chairish would giveaway a piece to a lucky Sacramento Street reader. Guess what friends – they are! One lucky winner will get to pick one of these three pieces for their very own home.
White Circles Painting | Pair of Brown Abstract Paintings | Light Pink with Black Splatter Painting
To enter the sweepstakes, click here. Once you’ve filled out the form you’ll be entered to win. Wishing all of you good luck and I’d love to know which of these three stunning pieces by Michele Spane you’d love to put in your home?
Please complete the entry for a valid submission winner will be contacted via email. This sweepstakes closes at 11:59 p.m. ET. on Friday, November 22nd.

Ready or not, it’s time to get prepared for the holidays. I’m notorious for thinking about holiday cards when it’s a little too late. Come mid-December I love opening up my mailbox to gorgeous and creative cards then go on the hunt for our very own. This year we’re getting ahead of the holiday madness. Thanks to Minted we already have our cards in our hands. Now it’s up to me to add some embellishments, stuff, address and stamp them all by the first week of December. I’m the type that needs deadlines.
When selecting the perfect holiday card this year we wanted something simple that had a beautiful design and reflected our style. This Winter Berry holiday cards definitely stood out amongst the hundreds of designs Minted has to offer.
Adding a little sparkle to the cards was actually Cambria (the designers) vision for the card. I love the extra detail it adds to the card. We’ve also added gold edges to the cards as well. It’s been so much fun having the extra time to make this years holiday cards extra special.
Now for the fun part – Minted is kindly offering one lucky Sacramento Street winner $250 towards their holiday cards. Now, if you aren’t planning on ordering holidays cards this year don’t fret – they have SO much more for you party essentials like notebooks, invitations for almost any event, and more! I have to say, their holiday cards are my favorite – it’s always so hard to choose just one to send out!
Entering is easy – simply follow the steps in the widget below and that’s it! The giveaway will be open until Wednesday, November 13th.
I hope this gets all of you excited for the holidays that are right around the corner and big thanks to Minted for offering this great giveaway!
