On the Hunt: Vintage Floor Lamps

While I have placed a floor lamp in my nursery, the rest of my house only has table lamps. I’m ready to find the perfect floor lamp for my living room. I’m having trouble deciding between a more traditional swing-arm lamp in brass or a mid-century modern floor lamp.  I have always favored a mix of modern and vintage and I have to say, I’ve been tempted by the chrome arc lamp as well as the actual vintage mid-century lamps.

In San Francisco, when vintage lamps show up in stores, they are swooped up quickly. A place I have found a plethora of floor lamps that I love are on the website Chairish. They have both traditional and mid-century choices.  The only trouble I’ll have, is deciding which lamp to chose.  Which do you prefer?

Greycork: Convenience Meets Good Design

| Sacramento Street

In my design business, I have always believed that less is more. I would rather have fewer pieces of quality than a house filled with throwaway furniture. Along with this, I find that buying from smaller companies that care about all of the details of their products can make the experience of buying items an enjoyable one. When I heard about Greycork, I knew their business model fit into my belief about design.

Greycork is a  online furniture startup producing quality furniture that brings cutting-edge design together with practical convenience. Both of the co-founders attended RISD and this is apparent in their products.

I have their desk and use it as my office desk. Each of these pieces arrive to your door in only five days. The top of the desk is a stunning solid wood that feels like satin. The metal legs of the table fold into the top for easy storage and it is easy to move from room to room.

I highly suggest popping over to their site! Greycork has done it right – creating products that work in your life.

snuggled down . . .

When I spotted this beautiful room over on Miss Erin’s blog, it immediately had me daydreaming of going home to curl up in a comfty outfit with my luscious faux fur blanket accompanied by a cup of Mariage tea and my brand new book. With the hectic week I’ve had I thought that instead of going home to work, it is a perfect night to keep my computer in my work bag and check out for a night. Nite, nite lovelies – I’ll be back tomorrow!

blue hues

Ever since we accidentally painted our apartment a grayish/blue I’ve been so attracted to homes that have blue hues. A touch of blue does wonders to a home – it makes it feel like a peaceful oasis. This living room in particular has my heart beating a little bit faster or could it be the beautiful hardwood floors? Both are incredible.
