Living With Great Style

it’s friday + link love!

Phew! It has been one of those weeks where I keep going and going and never stop to take a breath. The design world is keeping me busy and I’m loving every minute.

This weekend I’m excited to have some time do whatever my heart desires – maybe there’ll be an impromptu trip up North or a shopping date with a girlfriend. What I do know is that I’ll be getting up bright and early for the flea market on Sunday morning. I’ve got a laundry list of essentials to buy for work and I’m hoping I’ll find a few treasures of my own. I look forward to the flea market every month – I think it’s one of the only things (besides the flower market) that can get me out of bed at 6am.

What are you up to this weekend? Are you going to relish that extra hour of sleep we get on Sunday night? Go out to dinner with friends? I hope all of you have some fun things planned.

If you have a few minutes, pop on over to these incredibly inspiring blogs:

* I fell in L-O-V-E with her dining room when I saw it in Dallas and now it’s being featured in FD Luxe. Believe me, it’s so incredibly beautiful it deserves its very own post!

* With the weather turning incredibly cold yesterday I’m going to need this guide to tying scarves.

* Love the way Elise paired watercolors with rooms.

* I’m dreaming of a trip to Hearst Castle after seeing these photos in this post.

* These muffins need to be baked this weekend. A perfect morning treat for next week’s hectic work week.

Hope all of you have a lovely weekend! See you back here on Monday.

xx, Caitlin

it’s friday + link love . . .

The past few days I’ve been spending quality time at home with family and friends. I’m definitely getting a taste of fall weather here in Portland – cooler temperatures, leafs are changing colors and rain is trickling down. But the best part, I already feel completely recharged to start my new job. I can’t wait for Tuesday to roll around, but until then I’ll be lounging at home, making delicious dinners with my mom and sipping mojitos with my dear friend Amy.

If you’ve got some time to poke around this weekend be sure to check out these fabulous reads:

* A San Francisco store I have yet to discover . . .

* I’m picking up the ingredients to make this salad right when I get home . . .

* I’ve got four of these quilts around my apartment and love them . . .

* The details of this runway show are perfection . . .

* Apple season is in full swing and these photos by the lovely Daniella are beautiful . . .

Lastly, a huge thank you goes out to all of my October sponsors. For amazing handbags and clothing be sure to check out La Boutique (my favorite SF shop), Lo & Sons, and Pretty Mommy (she carries Clare Vivier clutches). Looking to add a few pieces to your home? Comfort & Samuel, ShopTen 25, and Ruby Lane are my go-to first stops. And if you’re starting to think about holiday cards or gifts, Pinhole Press and Storkie are the perfect places to get you thinking about the festivities that await us in a few short months.

Hope all of you enjoy this fall-like weather – I’m embracing it with open arms!

off to the desert . . .

After experiencing a extremely cold summer here in San Francisco, Eric and I thought it was time to get the heck out of this gloomy climate and take a vacation to Palm Springs. We’re going with a fun group of friends – some old and some new, which makes it a perfect combination for a fun time.

Sunshine, lounging by the pool, and cooking delicious meals is what I’m looking forward to this weekend. I’m signing off early this week. Be sure to follow me on twitter and instagram to get an inside peek into the trip.

While I’m away be sure to check out these fabulous posts:

*NYFW has come and gone, but this round up is the best I’ve yet to see . . .

*Transitioning into fall looks, I’m loving this ensemble . . .

*Weather is getting crisp, so these essentials might be necessary soon . . .

*Need some inspiration? Be sure to follow Mr. Grant on Pinterest . . .

* Be sure to check out my interview on Interior Connector . . .

Have a lovely weekend everyone! I’m off to enjoy some warm weather!

it’s friday + link love!

Yet another week comes to a close – I can’t believe next week is mid-September (time sure is flying). This weekend I’ll be celebrating a bestie’s birthday, taking Erin to her very first Giants game and spending Sunday getting coffee with a dear friend that I haven’t seen in ages. After that I’ll be hanging out at home packing for Palm Springs. I’m counting down the days until I’m on the plane to warm weather and sunshine.

Before all of you head off to enjoy your weekends, be sure to check out these links:

* If you’re in Dallas, be sure to stop by the Pretty Mommy pop-up shop tonight at Little Bean, which is hosted by the ever so lovely Joslyn.

* And if you live in SF, be sure to check out this show at La Boutique tonight!

* We often don’t talk about what we do outside of the blogosphere. Jessica’s journey is utterly inspiring . . .

* One of my favorite series featured one of my favorites this week . . .

* I’ve been coveting orange nails for awhile and after this post I’m thinking it’s a must for Palm Springs.

* This summer I went out of my element and bought a poppy clutch . . . I’m loving these pops of poppy!

Whether you’re gallivanting around NYFW or staying close to home – I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend!

xx, Caitlin

it’s friday + link love!

My weekdays seem to jam packed and for some reason I thought August was supposed to be quiet – I was completely wrong. That’s why this weekend I am having a date night with Eric (we’re off to see Billy Elliot), spending a day in Marin with a girlfriend and then Sunday is wide open for anything that comes my way (I’m secretly hoping I can lounge around the house reading my book and pile of September magazines).

Check out a few of my favorite reads from this week:

* Lusting after this Bed & Breakfast in London . . .

* Excited for the lovely Daniella’s new lifestyle blog . . .

* Wishing I could jump on a plane to Dallas for this pop-up shop in September . . .

* Hoping to stop by this Public Bikes warehouse sale this weekend . . .

* Wish I was sitting on a beach wearing this outfit right now . . .

* Lastly, I cannot WAIT for this girlie to move here this Saturday!

Tata for now, and I’ll see you all back here on Monday morning!
