Sacramento Street

Living With Great Style

paths to cross in 2011

Looking back at 2010 all I can think is “could it get any better?” Well, of course it can, but it was a darn good year – I accomplished every single goal I set for myself and much more. I believe that 2011 will be filled with dreams that haven’t been discovered, new places to travel to and challenges that will help me grow. The excitement of what is going to come in the months ahead are enlightening.

*Travel to somewhere new with my wonderful mom (Savannah, Santa Fe, Istanbul – I don’t know, but we have to go somewhere together this year).

*Adopt a puppy when Eric and I are ready.

*Keep filling our apartment with beautiful blooms from the flower market. It’s amazing how something so simple can bring you such joy.

*Get my apartment published in a magazine.

*Continuing to build Sacramento Street into the creative and inspiring place for myself and my readers.

*Keep designing each and everyday in order to build my portfolio.

*Continue to grow my sponsors.

*Finally, try to get our wedding photographs published on one of the wedding blogs that helped inspire me when I was getting married.

*Go to bed twenty minutes earlier so I have time to read wonderful novels.

*Spend more time with my girlfriends – they are my support system and even when we’re all busy with our lives we need to get together for some girl time.

*Keep cooking at home during the week, but learn at least one new recipe each week.

*Most importantly, spend more time with Eric – whether it’s lounging at home, discovering new parts of San Francisco or traveling together.

What are your goals for 2011? I wish all of you a wonderful fresh and fabulous start to a new year!

New Beginnings in 2010

In 2010 it’s all about new beginnings for me. Why you might ask? I’ll be getting married in April and changing my name, yes that mean’s no more Goebel. I’m excited for the journey into a new me.
With 2010 in full swing I feel like I should divulge some of the many goals on my new years resolution list:
* Clean out every closet in our apartment before we get married.
* Buy a new mattress (ours is 15 years old), I think it’s about time.
* Stay calm during these months before the wedding (aka, not freak outs).
*Get my apartment photographed and published for a blog or publication.
* Let Eric plan the honeymoon, not me.
* Buy a camera (either Nikon or Canon) to document the coming months festivities.
* Start working on getting Sponsors for Sacramento Street.
* Travel somewhere out of the country.
* Finish working on my very first interior design job. Then start building up more clients.

This weekend Eric and I checked one of these resolutions off my list. We cleaned every closet, cabinet, and drawer in our apartment. Although it took a LONG time organizing everything, it now feels amazing having everything so tidy. We even went out and go a new West Elm Parsons desk for me.

By doing a little organizing it definitely feels like a fresh start to the new year.

Wednesday Wedding Update: Organizing

Organzine should be my middle name because it’s something I’ve been doing for the past week and a half. I’ve been organizing our guest list, writing the language for our invitations, figuring out the dates for the bridal showers and the bachelorette party. Oh my have I felt overwhelmed, but what can I say, it’s all been so much fun.

In the next week or so we should be getting the proof for our wedding invitation. I’m at the edge of my seat waiting for it to arrive and I know Cheree Berry and her team won’t disappoint. Their amazing designers and I can’t wait to share the proof with all of you!
