Living With Great Style

Style: Dressing with Ease

For a long time, an essential part of my wardrobe has been pieces I’ve added to my wardrobe from Emerson Fry. The simplicity and great fit of each piece I have make them favorites in my wardrobe. Now that I’m a new mom, I especially like the idea of the simple fit and easy care of these items. There is always some kind of a spill or leak with a little one around and I like clothes I can wash or clean easily.

Here are some of my most recent finds from Emerson Fry. For most of you in other regions of the country, you probably wonder why I chose to get a wool coat in the summer. In San Francisco, these are some of our cooler days with the fog rolling in daily. But for the rest of you, this would make a perfect jacket for the cool fall days that are just around the corner. I’m loving the light gray jeans paired with an ivory linen t-shirt for the summer months – even if our summer isn’t ever a hot one!

Layer It: Get Away

Layer It : Get Away | Sacramento Street

Now that Memorial Day is officially over, we can now look forward to the hopeful, sunny, and relaxed season of summer. Here in San Francisco, this is the season of fog so many residents find their summer days out of the city. I love the fog but I have to say, after several days or weeks of gray, I pine for the warmth of sun. We always plan some away time where we can enjoy the sunshine of summer and slower pace of summer. That being said, there are many other signs that I get tickled pink by – incredibly berries and apricots arriving at my local farmers market, and the lighter clothes we can wear – and in the case of San Francisco – layer!

Right now I’m on the search for a new swimsuit. I plan to join a pool in Marin so Jackson and I can enjoy the sunshine that exists across the Golden Gate. What are your essentials for a day in the sun? I’ve compiled a few of my favorites.

I love a comfortable swimsuit as well as some form of a cover up or long dress that can move from the swimming pool to the sidewalks of wherever I find myself. If you plan to be in the sun, I good sunblock as well as a lip balm are a must. But probably the most fun is finding a nice pair of sunglasses as well as a fine pair of sandals. You’re all set – now it’s up to you to enjoy every minute you can outside!

The Basics

1.) Halter Wrap One-Piece Swimsuit

2.) Tassel Scarf Dress

The Layers

3.) Sunscreen Lotion

4.) Ripley Sunglasses

5.) Bobbi Brown Lip Balm

6.) Abbi Slingback Sandle

7.) Straw Mesa Hat

Layer It: Gray Scale

As the fog begins to roll in more often this time of year in San Francisco, I am gravitating to my greys, whites and blues. They are a bit more fitting for spring and summer. I love the look of a blue jacket with grey and white clothes and accessories. Now if I can just get myself to switch the black for indigo, I’ll be set for the change of seasons.

White pants feel so fresh and a sure sign that summer is around the corner. And I can always use more than one baseball hat. Mine will probably be a Giants hat but I’m coveting neutral option!

The Basics

2.) Regent Blazer in Chambray

The Layers

3.) Noble Solid Perfume

4.) Bar Bracelet

5.) Diamond Earings

6.) Slub V Neck Pocket T Shirt

Layer It: Neutral Territory

Layer It: Neutral Territory Inspiration | Sacramento Street

Can you believe that May is officially here? I certainly can’t – this year has gone by incredibly fast. As summer creeps closer and closer I’ve been drawn to lighter neutrals in my wardrobe. It’s time to ditch the all black and go with the white (although at the moment my closet is lacking in this department).

While I’m not usually a khakis girl, I’ve been drawn to them more and more this season. I haven’t officially given them a whirl, but after seeing this inspiration I’m totally digging it. What do you think? All I can say is that I love this light and fresh look of a lighter palette.

1.) Cropped Shawl-Collar Blazer

2.) New Campbell Capri Pant in Bi-Stretch Cotton

The Layers

3.) Too Hot To Handle Bentley Tote

Layer It: Keeping It Easy

Layer It : Casual Friday | Sacramento Street

Before I became a mother, I found myself dressing up fairly often for events, work, or just to meet up with friends. I find this has changed dramatically and now I consider it a victory when I put on makeup and get out the door looking halfway presentable. It’s become far more important for me to give my full attention to my sweet baby. That being said, I’ve needed to find ways to look nice without putting a great deal of time into it.

More often than not, you’ll find me in jeans and a t-shirt. But there are often times I need to pull myself together and dress up a bit. Most of the time I still wear my jeans but pop on some heels and a nice blouse that is simple and comfortable. I then grab a beautiful bag and I feel ready to face the world.

The Basics

1.) Ruffle Tank

2.) Point Sur Shoreditch Selvedge Jean

The Layers

3.) Hammered Skinny Ring

4.) Abel Pump

5.) Leopard Print Case

6.) Jet Set Large Saffiano Leather Snap Tote

7.) Aldous Glasses
