As the fog begins to roll in more often this time of year in San Francisco, I am gravitating to my greys, whites and blues. They are a bit more fitting for spring and summer. I love the look of a blue jacket with grey and white clothes and accessories. Now if I can just get myself to switch the black for indigo, I’ll be set for the change of seasons.
White pants feel so fresh and a sure sign that summer is around the corner. And I can always use more than one baseball hat. Mine will probably be a Giants hat but I’m coveting neutral option!
Can you believe that May is officially here? I certainly can’t – this year has gone by incredibly fast. As summer creeps closer and closer I’ve been drawn to lighter neutrals in my wardrobe. It’s time to ditch the all black and go with the white (although at the moment my closet is lacking in this department).
While I’m not usually a khakis girl, I’ve been drawn to them more and more this season. I haven’t officially given them a whirl, but after seeing this inspiration I’m totally digging it. What do you think? All I can say is that I love this light and fresh look of a lighter palette.
Before I became a mother, I found myself dressing up fairly often for events, work, or just to meet up with friends. I find this has changed dramatically and now I consider it a victory when I put on makeup and get out the door looking halfway presentable. It’s become far more important for me to give my full attention to my sweet baby. That being said, I’ve needed to find ways to look nice without putting a great deal of time into it.
More often than not, you’ll find me in jeans and a t-shirt. But there are often times I need to pull myself together and dress up a bit. Most of the time I still wear my jeans but pop on some heels and a nice blouse that is simple and comfortable. I then grab a beautiful bag and I feel ready to face the world.
Here in San Francisco we can’t complain about out mild, year round weather – it’s something that I definitely love about living here. For us, cold weather is usually a summer day when the fog won’t leave. These past few days we’ve been experiencing cold, wet and windy weather – boy do we need the rain.
Although we stayed indoors for a good portion of the weekend, we did manage to get out quite a bit. I think when you have a little one you can only stay inside for so long. This was my uniform as we braved the rain during our walks. Honestly, I could wear this outfit everyday. It’s so cozy.
As the air grows cooler all I can think about is layering up my favorite fall pieces. I’m a sucker for cozy knits, beautiful coats and boots. If I could wear them year round I totally would. It’s my favorite time of year.
When it comes to layering fall favorites I tend to stick to my neutral palette so that everything can mix and match seamlessly. The key is to have the perfect fall coat that can go with everything – day or night. This is a new favorite I’m lusting over – I love the fact that it has a hood.
Do you have a fall coat you’re loving this season?
