Living With Great Style

Layer It : Gearing Up For Fall

Layer It: Gallery Opening | Sacramento Street

Can you believe the last weekend of summer is approaching? I honestly don’t know where the month of August went. This summer went by incredibly fast and while I’m already giddy about the crisp fall weather that is around the corner, I’m a little sad to say goodbye to impromptu trips to the beach and pool. With that being said, I wanted to inspire you for what’s to come – more layered ensembles. While this is still keeping with lighter tones I wanted to share what I’ll be sporting in the next few weeks as we see a more crisp side of things come our way. Have you spotted any pre-fall musts out there that you’re coveting?

Four Favorites

How is it already late August? Kids are going back to school, which automatically sets in that feeling of prepping for fall to come. Honestly, it’s my favorite time of year. I love the crisp, cool air. What gets me even more excited is fall fashion. There isn’t anything quite like layering up. One thing I’m always on the hunt for every fall is a new go to black bag that I can take with me to client meetings. The bag has to fit client notebooks, my tape measure, binders, fabric samples, you name it. These are a few options I’ve been eyeing this past week. Do you have a favorite tote that you love or are coveting? I’d love to know!

1.) ‘Super Zip’ Messenger Bag

2.) ‘Elite’ Tote

3.) ‘Mini Domo Arigato Packrat’ Backpack

4.) ‘Harriet Hobo’

Layer It: Happy Hour

Layer It: Gallery Opening | Sacramento Street
Happy hour is a rarity these days. Lately, I’ve been making more of an effort to meet up with friends after work. I have to say, bartenders are getting better and better at coming up with delicious mock-tails that excite me to go out. So, while I have this burst of energy in my second trimester, I’m taking all of the happy hour dates I can get. Since my bump is still somewhat small I’ve been wearing my broken-in boyfriend jeans with a blouse and booties (yes, fogust has all San Franciscans in boots until our indian summer arrives). Do you have a go to look for happy hour dates? A favorite blouse or look?

The Basics:

1.) Broken-In Boyfriend Jean in Ludington Wash

2.) Collection Picot Ruffle Blouse

The Layers:

3.) ‘Miss Havisham Kinetic Gold’ Stack Ring

4.) ‘Tiny Metro’ Leather Strap Watch, 20mm

5.) ‘Vold’ Embossed Cap Toe Bootie

Four Favorites: Sneakers

In the summertime I like to kick back and be a little bit more casual than normal. There’s something about warm summer days that make me want to throw my regular shoes to the curb for a good old pair of sneakers. We all have our trusty pair that we can’t live without. I for one would live in mine if I could. That’s why I wanted to share with a you a few styles I’ve worn in the past and a few I’ve been wanting to give a whirl.

Do you have a favorite brand of sneakers you adore?

1 .) ‘Becker’ Calf Hair Slip On

2.) Keds for Kate Spade New York ‘Ryan’ Sneaker

3.) ‘Paseo Classic’ Canvas Sneaker

4.) Chuck Taylor All Star ‘Ox’ Leather Sneaker

Layer It: Gallery Opening

Layer It : Gallery Opening | Sacramento Street

When dressing up for events I’m constantly thinking about whether I have time to run home before the event or whether I’m going to have to wear what I’ve been running around town in all day. If that’s the case, I’ll usually bring a jacket and jewelry to make it more of a night look. In this case, I’ve found a shirt that has a side-slit (which is not shown in this picture) so it’s a little dressier than it looks. I love when a shirt looks as though it’s just your average shirt but then has a bit of a surprise to it. Don’t you? That’s what makes it perfect for a gallery opening, meeting girlfriends for cocktails before a show, or dressing it down and wearing it during the day.

The Basics:

1.) Reid Japanese Selvedge Jean

2.) Ultimate Leather Motorcycle Jacket

The Layers:

3.) ‘Classic Fox’ 54mm Optical Glasses

4.) Side-Slit Tunic

5.) ‘Nostalgia’ Nail Lacquer

6.) Collection Calf Hair Oxfords

7.) Mini Beaded Tassle Lariat

8.) Tiny Triad Ring
