Living With Great Style

Layer It: A Day at the Museum

Layer It: Museum | Sacramento Street

There is nothing I love more than a day at the museum. It’s a way for me to unplug, get inspired and most importantly not think about time. This weekends plan includes an outing with my mom to the Legion of Honor. One of my favorite museums in San Francisco for it’s beauty and exhibitions. When it comes to dressing for museums I have to remind myself of two things: 1) to wear comfy flats and 2) dress in long sleeves because you never know if the AC will be on. Who wants to be cold?

Do you ever need a day to unwind and get lost in a museum?

Layer It: To The Gym

Layer It : To the Gym | Sacramento Street

Scheduling my weekly workout sessions is something I have to do. It’s good for my mind, body and soul. Even though it’s hard to fit it some weeks, I’ve realized that squeezing in a 30 minute workout can do wonders for my productivity. Lately, I’ve noticed that it helps even more when I’m pregnant. As I near the end of my second trimester I’m finding it important to head to the gym for a prenatal yoga or pilates class – afterwards I feel like a different person. Since I’ve found myself in gym clothes so often I thought I’d pull together a few of my favorite items that I’ve been loving. None are maternity, I’ve just been buying larger sizes. I hope this inspires you to get out and enjoy the gym!

Four Favorites : Fall Jackets

Four Favorites: Fall Jackets | Sacramento Street

Let’s be honest, when fall comes around what item do you first think about purchasing? I personally think about what jacket I’ll be investing in for fall. It’s usually the one piece of clothing that I end up wearing day in and day out – so it has to be just right. As I began my search last week for that “perfect” jacket I came across quite a handful that I fell in love with . . . which is a problem. So I need your guidance, which jacket do you adore the most? Aren’t all of them great options. Help a girl out!

1.) Pinstripe Bomber Jacket

2.) Miltary Anorak

3.) Double-Cloth Car Coat

4.) Quilte Puffer Jacket

Layer It: On the Go

Layer It : On The Go | Sacramento Street

Lately I’ve found myself constantly on the go – running here and there without much of a break in my day. Luckily I’ve been able to come up with the perfect outfit that can take me from one climate to the next. Yes, traveling from foggy San Francisco, to sunny and warm Palo Alto or Napa makes for quite a challenge when getting dressed. That’s why it’s essential to wear layers.

Since we’re gearing up for fall, this would be a great outfit for any city. I can’t wait for the leaves to start turning!

Travel Essentials: Alaska

Travel Essentials : Alaska | Sacramento Street Travel Essentials : Alaska | Sacramento Street It was almost 20 years ago that I took my very first trip to Alaska. I remember the stunning glaciers, sea otters and whales. When Eric and I sat down to plan our babymoon we wanted to go someplace adventurous, beautiful and unexpected. I’d say this isn’t your typical babymoon. Plus, it has been on Eric’s bucket list for quite some time. With that being said, we are combining luxury with adventure by going on a cruise. I can’t wait for our boat – the Celebrity Solstice to take us from one port to the next where we’ll be disembarking to different excursions (including hiking on glaciers!!!).

When packing for Alaska I knew I’d have to prepare for any kind of weather – sun, rain, and ice cold temperatures when hiking. A few readers reached out about what I was bringing because they are planning trips to Alaska as well – looks like it’s a popular destination! That’s why I wanted to share my packing list with all of you. The most important essential – a super warm Woolrich jacket that I have a feeling I’ll be living in the entire trip.

1.) Plaid Mix Scarf

2.) Igor Caviar Velvet

3.) ‘Pronto’ Dry Shampoo

4.) The Vacationers

5.) Tiny Dot Socks

6.) Alexis Hat

7.) Perfect Cardigan

8.) Arctic Parka

9.) Zhumell 10x 42mm Short Barrel Waterproof Binoculars

10.) Roam Black Metallic Boots

I hope this helps you pack for your next cold weather getaway – the winter months will be here before you know it!
