There is something about city living that is rewarding – you have everything at your fingertips. One thing that I love most is being able to walk everywhere. It’s honestly the best part of living in a walkable city.
With that being said, I’ve learned over the years how to dress for it. There are two things to remember – 1.) layers and 2.) comfy shoes. The last thing you want are blisters. This is my ideal ensemble for being out and about.
As the fog begins to roll in more often this time of year in San Francisco, I am gravitating to my greys, whites and blues. They are a bit more fitting for spring and summer. I love the look of a blue jacket with grey and white clothes and accessories. Now if I can just get myself to switch the black for indigo, I’ll be set for the change of seasons.
White pants feel so fresh and a sure sign that summer is around the corner. And I can always use more than one baseball hat. Mine will probably be a Giants hat but I’m coveting neutral option!
Can you believe that May is officially here? I certainly can’t – this year has gone by incredibly fast. As summer creeps closer and closer I’ve been drawn to lighter neutrals in my wardrobe. It’s time to ditch the all black and go with the white (although at the moment my closet is lacking in this department).
While I’m not usually a khakis girl, I’ve been drawn to them more and more this season. I haven’t officially given them a whirl, but after seeing this inspiration I’m totally digging it. What do you think? All I can say is that I love this light and fresh look of a lighter palette.
Before I became a mother, I found myself dressing up fairly often for events, work, or just to meet up with friends. I find this has changed dramatically and now I consider it a victory when I put on makeup and get out the door looking halfway presentable. It’s become far more important for me to give my full attention to my sweet baby. That being said, I’ve needed to find ways to look nice without putting a great deal of time into it.
More often than not, you’ll find me in jeans and a t-shirt. But there are often times I need to pull myself together and dress up a bit. Most of the time I still wear my jeans but pop on some heels and a nice blouse that is simple and comfortable. I then grab a beautiful bag and I feel ready to face the world.
When April hits I have the urge to ditch my black wardrobe staples. Now, that would consist of packing away 85% of my closet, so it’s not going to happen. This past week I’ve found myself wearing lighter tones – and I’m loving it. Do you ever feel the need to lighten up your wardrobe?
I decided it was time to create some springtime looks that mostly consisted white staples – mixing in white dresses (this is my favorite!), pairing together white jeans with a heather grey sweater and busting out these white oxfords.
