Living With Great Style

Layer It: Neutral Territory

Layer It: Neutral Territory Inspiration | Sacramento Street

Can you believe that May is officially here? I certainly can’t – this year has gone by incredibly fast. As summer creeps closer and closer I’ve been drawn to lighter neutrals in my wardrobe. It’s time to ditch the all black and go with the white (although at the moment my closet is lacking in this department).

While I’m not usually a khakis girl, I’ve been drawn to them more and more this season. I haven’t officially given them a whirl, but after seeing this inspiration I’m totally digging it. What do you think? All I can say is that I love this light and fresh look of a lighter palette.

Layer It: Keeping It Easy

Layer It : Casual Friday | Sacramento Street

Before I became a mother, I found myself dressing up fairly often for events, work, or just to meet up with friends. I find this has changed dramatically and now I consider it a victory when I put on makeup and get out the door looking halfway presentable. It’s become far more important for me to give my full attention to my sweet baby. That being said, I’ve needed to find ways to look nice without putting a great deal of time into it.

More often than not, you’ll find me in jeans and a t-shirt. But there are often times I need to pull myself together and dress up a bit. Most of the time I still wear my jeans but pop on some heels and a nice blouse that is simple and comfortable. I then grab a beautiful bag and I feel ready to face the world.

1.) Ruffle Tank

2.) Point Sur Shoreditch Selvedge Jean

The Layers

3.) Hammered Skinny Ring

4.) Abel Pump

Layer It: Mostly White

Layer It : Mostly White | Sacramento Street

When April hits I have the urge to ditch my black wardrobe staples. Now, that would consist of packing away 85% of my closet, so it’s not going to happen. This past week I’ve found myself wearing lighter tones – and I’m loving it. Do you ever feel the need to lighten up your wardrobe?

Layer It : Mostly White | Sacramento StreetI decided it was time to create some springtime looks that mostly consisted white staples – mixing in white dresses (this is my favorite!), pairing together white jeans with a heather grey sweater and busting out these white oxfords.

The Basics

1.) The Bruin Skinny Jeans

The Layers

3.) 52mm Cat Eye Sunglasses

Minimalist Momstyle

| Sacramento Street

Honestly, since I became a mother, I’ve had to let some things go. There are days when I don’t actually have a chance to shower or complete a workout. I try not to beat myself up – there will be plenty of time in the future. It’s amazing how frequently I look at my watch and it’s noon and I have not accomplished anything other than just spending time with Jackson.

While having a baby has changed the picture for me in a multitude of ways, my style has remained relatively the same – maybe just a bit more informal. You definitely need to embrace fabrics that can easily be washed when you have a baby in your life.

A great option that I gravitate to on a daily basis, are the clothes I have from Shop Buru. They all seem to work by being both comfortable and stylish at the same time. There are some pieces I’ve actually ordered multiples of!

Layer It: Simple Living

Layer It: Jet Setter | Sacramento Street

I find myself gravitating to clothes that are easy to wear and more importantly, comfortable. What I like about this particular grouping, are the darker colors (I’m definitely a neutrals girl) and the slim cut of the jeans paired with a looser top.

On days when I work at home and don’t have any meetings, I often wear a pair of tennis shoes. And if I need to run to meet someone, I can quickly change my shoes but keep the same outfit on.  Simple living at its best!
