Getaway: The Newly Renovated Carneros Inn

The Carneros Inn

Finding time for a getaway can be challenging especially since the last few months have been a whirlwind. Between client projects, an energetic toddler, and baseball season in full swing – it was time for a little me time. It felt great to plan a getaway from the frenzy with my mom. About an hour north of San Francisco, you can retreat to the stunning Carneros Inn. Where you can feel as though you are a lifetime away from the fast paced madness.

The Carneros Inn is more than just any another hotel in Napa Valley. It’s an experience you will never forget. First and foremost, when you drive into the property to check into your reservation the newly renovated guest reception had me wanting to sit there for hours – full disclosure this happens all over the resort because they have these beautiful spots to just relax and take it all in.

With some of the most beautiful grounds in the area, you can take strolls and watch the sunset at twilight, linger on your porch reading that book you never got around to reading, or dip into the pool with a view of the nearby hills and vineyards. There is everything you can imagine in your dreams here. Especially in the newly renovated cottages – beds you will melt into, outdoor showers and tubs, and service that is unsurpassed.

I found that much of my time I was sitting on our private the back porch writing and creating new ideas for my work. Having room to breathe helped me think about all the ideas I’ve had swirling around in my head but hadn’t figured out. With the smell of sage and rosemary in the air, I was able to find the clarity I needed.

And while I did work hard on my stay at Carneros Inn, I also found the time to take long walks, go for a dip in the pool, and eat outstanding meals at the restaurants on the premise – I highly recommend breakfast at the Boon Fly Cafe (get the donuts!).

One of the highlights was about an hour before sunset – walking through the resort and ending on The Hilltop that overlooks Napa Valley. It was truly breathtaking. Sitting on the hill in the adirondack chairs enjoying the light changing for the strawberry moon sunset was definitely a moment I won’t forget.

When I returned home to San Francisco the next day, it felt as if I had been away for much longer than one night. I was rested, restored, and ready to hit the ground running. If you are needing true retreat – The Carneros Inn is the place to book. I’m already looking forward to going back in November with my boys!
